On this 8th day of December, give yourself the give of a tall drink of water! There are many reasons to stay hydrated that I will cover below, but I think the most important one is that it affects your energy levels and brain function- both of which are super important during the holiday season.
Some other important reasons to drink water are that it helps you stay a peak performance while you are doing activities. This is especially important during the summer months where it is hotter than the surface of the sun here in Oklahoma, but it is also important during the winter months. Staying hydrated may also help prevent and treat headaches, although the scientists believe that there needs to be more studies done on this. Drinking water also helps with constipation and can help treat kidney stones. Water helps the concentration of minerals which can lead to the development of the stones.
Your body is body is made up of 60% water so if you want it to keep operating at its best, make sure that you stay hydrated. Whether you drink a gallon of water or 64 ounces of water a day, just make sure that you are getting enough so that you are hydrated . . .not dehydrated!
